FINCAD CEO and President, Bob Park, established the scholarship program in 2014. This year he has doubled the award, bringing it to a US$20,000 award opportunity. “Traditionally careers in finance and the capital markets have largely been occupied by men,” Bob commented. “While more women are entering these careers than in the past, there continues to be a gender gap. Particularly in the middle to senior level management finance jobs, there is room for greater gender diversity. With this scholarship, we are hoping to help level this imbalance through giving one qualified woman the necessary financial support to further her education and ultimately attain a rewarding career in the fast-growing field of derivatives finance."
FINCAD’s US$20,000 Women in Finance scholarship opportunity is open to women of any age and citizenship. Eligible candidates must be studying finance in a graduate-level program at an accredited institution and must be pursuing or planning to pursue a career in asset management, financial market risk management or derivatives finance. Complete application packages are due on or before June 30, 2019.
